The future of supercars is headed to plug-in hybrids and electric-cars. A company by the name of Bristol is working on a range-extended supercar called the GT. The Bristol GT supercar will be able to hit a top speed of 200 mph with an estimated fuel-economy of 83.2 mpg – which is quite impressive.

The two-door Bristol GT will be shown in concept form by the end of this year with the production version estimated to cost right under 200,000 GBP.

According to Kamal Siddiqi, Bristol’s owner and chairman, the GT will be similar in size to the Bentley Continental GT and will borrow the powertrain from the 2009 Giugiaro Namire Concept.

Siddiqi did not say exactly when the Bristol GT will go on sale but he said that the company has plans to make “several hundred a year.”
