September 25th, 2011 by Road Test TV

The crew from Road and Track recently tested the two and a half million dollar ($2,500,000.00) limited addition Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Only 46 of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports will be built, and they all have been spoken for (Darn it). The Bugatti Veyron SS was lined up against the 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S and the 530 hp 2012 Nissan GTR. As expected, the Veyron destroyed the very quick Nissan GTR and Porsche 911 Turbo S, ripping from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and annihilating the the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds at nealy 146 mph. In addition, James May of the BBC’s Top Gear picked the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. Super Sport as his “Car of the Year” and drove a Veyron Super Sport to a top speed of 259 mph (417 km/h) – his personal best. On the same day, Bugatti’s official test pilot (Pierre Henri Raphanel), drove the same Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to an official top speed record of of 268 mph (431 km/h) in June 2010. Truly legendary performance (video source/credit: Road & Track).

It is sad to note that the last Bugatti Veyron was ordered in February of 2011 which completed the total production of 300 Veyrons worldwide since its inception.
