E55 Mercedes v 2010 Bentley Continental Supersports Video – Road Test TV

March 5th, 2011 by Road Test TV

Captured in Juarez, Mexico – a mildly tuned Mercedes E55 vs. stock 2010 Bentley Supersports.

This brand new (had about 1000 miles) Bentley Supersports is equipped with a 6-litre, twin turbo-charged W12 engine with the following impressive stats:

Engine Capacity: 5998cc
Max. Power: 621bhp / 630 PS / 463kW @ 6000rpm
Max.Torque: 800Nm, 590 lb-ft @ 2000-4500rpm
Compression Ratio: 9.0:1

It is the most the most powerful Bentley ever. Paired with a Quickshift ZF six-speed automatic transmission, the Bentley Supersports is capable of catapulting from from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.0s) and 0-100 mph in only 9.5 seconds (0-160 km/h in 9.4s). However, it was no match for a slightly warmed over Mercedes E55. The fact that the Bentley weighs 4940 lbs (2240 kg) doesn’t help (about 900 lbs more than the Mercedes E55). Also, the E55 in the video has been modified by RENNtech (pulley and ECU tune) and has done the quarter mile in 11.6 @ 122 mph.
