According to inside reports, McLaren is working on a third model that will join the MP4-12C and the recently introduced top-of-the-line P1.
The new model will compete with the likes of the Porsche 911 and will be slotted below the MP4-12C.
Internally known as the P13, the new McLaren will be a two-seat sports car and the firm hopes that it will be the best-selling model in its lineup with an estimated annual sales goal of 2,000 to 2,500 units.
Power for the P13 will come from a detuned version of the V8 twin-turbo from the MP4-12C.
Pricing for the U.S. market is estimated to come in right below $200,000. Expected launch time is scheduled for sometime next year.
