For quite some time we’ve been hearing about Porsche working on a high-performance 960 model that would compete with the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia. Porsche CEO Matthias Muller now says that the 960 isn’t a high priority for the company and that the company is no rush to get the car to the market.

Instead, Muller says that Porsche is looking to expand its lineup to a total of seven models. In an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, Muller said that a seven model range is ideal for the brand because a car’s lifecycle is around seven years. This would allow Porsche to introduce an all-new model annually.

Following the Porsche Macan compact SUV, Porsche will add a smaller version of the Panamera, making that the seventh model. The other model will be the 918 Spyder

As for the 960, we’ll just have to wait and see when the company will decide to offer that.
