The 2014 Cadillac CTS is sure to lure away luxury car shoppers from the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, now that the CTS has grown in size, is there a less likely possibility of a coupe version? Will the coupe version be reserved just for the ATS, which is now the true competitors to the 3 Series and C-Class?

Not entirely. While GM is still remaining quite on a new version of the CTS Coupe, the boss’ admits that the current CTS coupe “was hugely successful.”

“We will see where we go,” said Jim Vurpillat, Cadillac global marketing director, in an interview with Edmunds at the 2013 New York Auto Show. “(the current CTS coupe) was the No. 1 selling luxury coupe in the industry. It is a good segment for us.”

While Mercedes-Benz offers a straight coupe version of the E Class, BMW’s solution to a 5 Series coupe is a bit more expensive with the 6 Series being its 5 Series derived coupe.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
