Report: Next-generation Bentley Continental Supersports to make north of 650-hp

Word on the street is that Bentley is currently working on a successor to the very powerful Continental Supersports, scheduled for release sometime next year.
The model will be the successor to the Bentley Continental Supersports, which made its first-generation debut as a 2009 model year vehicle. According to inside sources at Bentley, the new Continental Supersports will generate somewhere north of 650-hp and will lose some weight with the addition of carbon fiber body parts.
“There is a limit to how much power can sensibly be extracted, so the Supersports wouldn’t be all about pure power,” Bentley source told AutoCar.
Sources also say that while the first-generation Bentley Continental Supersports was offered as a limited-production-vehicle, the new one will be produced continuously for the Continental lineup.
