Report: Rolls-Royce considering convertible version of Wraith
April 29th, 2013 by Road Test TV
According to Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos, the company will indeed offer a convertible version of the new Wraith coupe. The Rolls Royce Wraith recently made its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and is known as the most dynamic Rolls ever built.
“The design certainly lends itself to a drophead coupe, and I think that will be the next variant,” said Muller-Otvos in an interview with AutoExpress. However, he said that creating a drop-top version would take ‘some time.’
The Rolls-Royce Wraith is powered by a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine making 624-hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mate to an 8-speed automatic transmission, 0 to 60 mph comes in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
It is more than likely that the convertible version will carry the same exact powertrain setup.
Sales of the Rolls-Royce Wraith will begin later this year.
