During the 17th season of Top Gear UK, Jeremy Clarkson put together a wonderful tribute to the Jaguar E-Type, a sports car that is widely known as the most beautiful car ever built. Following the wonderful 10+ minute segment, Clarkson explains that a total of 1,000+ E-Type owners had gathered at a special location in Britain to celebrate the car’s 50th anniversary – to which Richard Hammond jokes that 1,000+ E-Type owners tried to actually start their Jags that day.
You see, for years many have joked about Jaguars’ random fail-to-start issues and you would think that 50 or so years later that the British automaker would have finally figured out a solution – well, they haven’t.
At a recent British car event in South Florida, Jaguar decided to show-off its new 2014 Jaguar F-Type sports car, a sexy and powerful two-seater that will take on the likes of the Porsche 911. However, when it came time to show off the F-Type’s exhaust note, Jaguar officials had some trouble starting the car. It seems as if the F-Type is trying to carry on the legacy of the E-Type – while it is a beautiful sports car, it still seems to have trouble firing up.
Either way, to correct the issue, Jaguar pulled in a 2014 Range Rover to help jump-start the car with a pair of jumper cables.
