Lamborghini Aventador vs Ferrari LaFerrari

It’s very rare for two supercar manufacturer to release their flagship models around the same time as the other. We were lucky enough to see this in action with the latest models by Ferrari and Lamborghini. First off, Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador LP700-4, the successor to the Murcielago, to much positive acclaim. Ferrari shortly followed with a successor to the Enzo with the new and very extreme LaFerrari.

We decided to put together a short head-to-head and see which one impresses us the most. Let’s have a look.

Refresher: The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 will be powered by a 6.5L V12 engine making 690-hp and 509 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the company’s new ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) 7-speed transmission, 0 to 60 mph will come in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph. The Aventador is an all-wheel-drive supercar courtesy of Lamborghini’s Haldex 4-wheel drive system.

Seeing as the Lamborghini Aventador offers just about the same performance as the Ferrari LaFerrari and costs much less – we think the Aventador is the clear winner here. Starting around $400,000 the Aventador is about half the price of the LaFerrari and offers the same – if not just a little better performance than the Ferrari. In fact, the MP-05 Ferrari wristwatch (which is inspired by the LaFerrari) costs $318,000.
