First images of the Maserati Ghibli sedan released

What you’re looking at here are the first images of the new Maserati Ghibli sedan, a brand new model for the Italian luxury brand that will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Maserati Ghibli sedan will play significant role in the brand’s growth to sell 50,000 units on an annual basis.
Ready to hit markets in the beginning of 2013, the Ghibli will be available with two turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engines, an eight-speed automatic transmission and both rear-wheel drive and the new ‘Q’ all-wheel drive system. Official output and technical specs will be released at the car’s 2013 Shanghai Motor Show debut.
The new Ghibli will also be the first production car for Maserati that will be powered by a diesel engine, a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel.
