We all now know that Lamborghini’s successor to the Murcielago, the Aventador LP700-4, is a very special vehicle. As such, it should come as no surprise that during a recent visit to the Lamborghini factory in Bologna, Italy, we were advised that the Aventador is sold out for the next two (2) years. That’s right, every Aventador for the next two (2) years has been pre-sold. We were told that Lamborghini will produce approximately 600 Aventadors per year, and has sold orders for over 1200 vehicles. That is pretty amazing considering that the base price of an Aventador is $387,000.00 US dollars. We’ve seen Aventadors being sold for more than $100,000.00 over MSRP (nearly $500,000.00).

The Lamborghini Aventador comes equipped with a 6.5 liter V12 with 11.8 to 1 compression and produces nearly 700 horsepower. The Aventador’s performance stats are equally impressive: Top Speed: 217 mph (350 km/h); 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds). We have heard rumors that the Lamborghini Aventador will terrorize the quarter-mile in the mid 10 second range at approximately 135 mph.
