Nissan has confirmed that its NISMO department is working its magic on the very popular GT-R sports coupe. The Japanese automaker stated that its global performance road car and motorsports arm, is developing a higher-powered road version of the Nissan GT-R, something that should have you Godzilla fans sitting on the edge of your seats.

So what will the Nissan GT-R NISMO be like?

Well, Nissan hasn’t released any details yet but it says that the engineers will be back at the Nurburgring to do some testing and returning another record-breaking time at the famous German track.

“It would be unthinkable for us to develop a range of NISMO road cars without including the GT-R,” said Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn. “The standard road car is a global supercar and the GT-R’s performance on track reflects the passion and talents of the NISMO team. The GT-R NISMO will be special and I can’t wait to drive it.”
