This is the very last Pagani Zonda… ever

Pagani Zonda Revolucion 03

The Pagani Zonda first made its debut in 1999 and the production apparently ended in 2011 with three special-edition models including the Zonda 760RS, Zonda 760LH and the Zonda 764 Passione, being produced in 2012. By June 2009, 206 Zondas had been built – and if all that sounded confusing to you – that’s because it is.

You see, the Pagani Zonda has seen so many iterations that it’s almost hard to keep up with how many have been made and sold to their owners and when production really ended. Besides the Pagani Zonda itself, the company produced the 2003 Pagani Zonda C12-S Roadster, the 2005 Pagani Zonda F, the 2006 Pagani Zonda Roadster F, the 2008 Pagani Zonda R, the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque, the 2009 Pagani Zonda R, the 2010 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster and the 2011 Pagani Zonda Tricolore – and we’re probably still missing 2 or 3 special one-off editions.

Well, it seems like Pagani has finally decided to make the last Zonda trim ever and here it is – the 2013 Pagani Zonda Revolucion. Making its debut at the Vanishing Point 2013, the International Pagani gathering, founder Horacio Pagani announced that the Zonda Revolucion will be the very last of the Zonda breed.

“The Pagani Zonda Revolucion is the apex of the celebration of performance, technology and art applied to a track car,” Pagani said in a statement. “Horacio Pagani and his team have created a car designed to amaze both on the track and in a car collection.”

Tipping the scale at just 2,358 pounds (thanks to its carbon-fiber monocoque), the Pagani Zonda Revolucion is powered by an AMG Mercedes 6.0 liter V12 engine making 800-hp and a maximum torque of 538 lb-ft, resulting in a power to weight ratio of 748 hp per ton. The engine is mated to a 5-speed magnesium transversal and sequential gearbox, which changes gears in 20ms. No word on how fast it hits 60 mph but we’re guessing it’s very very fast.

“Limits are made to be overcome. We knew that Pagani Zonda R was already a fast car, the fastest ever on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife,” said Horacio Pagani. “We knew it would be very difficult to design and build a car that was even more extreme. But thanks to the creativity of our designers, engineers, and the whole Pagani family, we created a beautiful object and the fastest Pagani vehicle ever. A car that I am sure will electrify all our customers and fans all over the world.”

How much does it cost. The Pagani Zonda Revolucion is on sale now with a starting price tag of just $2.93 million. Start saving up!
