Word on the street is that Audi is undergoing a huge design overhaul. According to reports, chief designer Wolfgang Egger is executing a number of high-level individual changes at Audi’s Ingolstadt design studio.

Insiders say that he is hiring new designers from SEAT, Alfa Romeo, and elsewhere. Former Bentley chief designer Dirk van Braeckel now is responsible for Audi’s motorsport division and original equipment.

Audi’s current and award-winning design strategy has recently come under criticism for extreme similarities between its model lineup. Some feel there is little difference between the Audi A4, A6 and A8 – and I have to sort of agree.

When will we see these new design changes take place. If I had to guess – it would be some time in 2016. Stay tuned for more details.
