Report: Lexus working on halo coupe, could debut next year

Ever since the Lexus LFA went out of production, there have been rumors that the brand will offer a halo coupe to keep the ‘sporty hype’ around its brand.
Lexus executives have now revealed that the company is working on a new coupe that may be slated to go into production as early as next year.
In an interview with Automotive News, Toyota Motor President Akio Toyoda said the company needs something “more exciting, more exhilarating.” Lexus’ International Executive Vice President Mark Templin went on to say “I think a coupe could change perceptions of our brand and make us a more emotional brand and potentially reach younger buyers.”
Recent reports suggest that a concept version could debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, with a production version to debut as early as the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
