Uncovered! 2011-2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (Update ZL1) – Road Test TV
September 30th, 2010 by Road Test TV
Road Test TV – Looks like someone caught a 2011 – 2012 Camaro Z28 prototype performing some testing. Based upon the photos, it seems clear that the new Camaro Z28 will be a bad boy equipped with a version of the supercharged LSA motor used in the CTS-V. It should be a beast.
As most gearheads know, the LSA engine is sort of a little brother to the 638 hp LS9 engine which powers the 2009 – 2011 Corvette ZR1. The LSA is also a 6.2L supercharged mill, however, it only produces (did I say only) 556bhp @ 6100rpm and 551 lb-ft torque @ 3800rpm. Chevrolet has not release the horsepower figures for the new Z28 yet; however, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more than the CTS-V’s 556 hp.
We’ll keep you posted as soon as more details are available on the 2011 – 2012 Camaro Z28 and let you know when it goes on sale.
