It seems as though John Hennessey and his company’s new Venom GT can’t get enough of breaking record. The new Hennessey Venom GT already holds the record for the world’s fastest production car from 0 to 186 mph (in 13.63 seconds) as recorded by the Guinness World Records.

Well, it seems as though the Hennessey Venom GT is now the world’s fastest production vehicle available for purchase. The Venom GT recently hit up the United States Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore in Central California, and managed to hit a top speed of 265.7 mph.

“While a Veyron Super Sport did run 267.8 mph, Bugatti speed-limits its production vehicles to 258 mph,” said John Hennessey. “Thus, at 265.7 mph the Venom GT is the fastest production car available to the public.”

Hennessey will only make 29 units of the Venom GT – each going for around $1.2 million.
