Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V – Drag Test Video – Modified with Pulley and Tune – Road Test TV

April 30th, 2011 by Road Test TV

While we were down in Florida drag testing a stock Mercedes SL65 AMG, we were lucky enough to be handed the keys to a Supercharged Cadillac CTS-V with a Diablosport tune and a 9.5 inch lower pulley. (Our friend LitiGator was the brave soul that gave us the keys to his Cadillac CTS-V). We know that a stock 556 horsepower Cadillac CTS-V is strong, so we were anxious to see what a modified one would do.

As luck and timing would have it, we would only get one pass down the track. The pressure was on since the Cadillac wore its stock Michelin PS2s which it could easily turn into molten lava if given too much throttle off the line. Smoking the tires out of the hole would kill our run, so we wanted to make sure we got as much traction as possible. After doing a short burnout to warm the tires, I staged the CTS-V. When the lights came down, I lightly squeezed the throttle until the weight transferred onto the rear tires and could feel the PS2s clawing for grip. Once the Michelins started to hook, I applied full throttle. The technique worked and the Caddy CTS-V responded with an amazing 11.57 at 121.86.

The Cadillac CTS-V was a blast to drive and rock solid. It is unbelievable how much torque the CTS-V has right off idle, and the noise from the blower is out of this world. If your looking for a sedan that can haul the family as well as haul ass, you can’t go wrong with the new Cadillac CTS-V.
